Chrome OS supports Android Apps

One of the key element that determines the success of a platform is the applications. Over the last years, consumers are trained to go to a play store/app store where the apps are curated, rated, categorized, featured, tested and presented to the audience. App stores determine a platform's success and failure. Windows, FirefoxOS, Ubuntu OS, perished or on the way to end of its days because of lack of app ecosystem. Given this dilemma, Google brings all its play store apps to Chrome OS. Even though chromeOS volume is still way lesser than Android volume, it is welcome news for Android developers. It seems the developers do not have to change their app drastically to make it available for Chrome OS. Android on Chrome OS will run on a Linux container. Hence, there’s no performance penalty — both Chrome OS and Android will use the same kernel and resources on the Chrome OS machine.
What role does app stores play in IOT ? Lets discuss that in our next blog entry.

China also saw huge gains, on Singles Day in November 2015 Alibaba received 69% of its $14.3 billion worth of orders from a mobile device. The approximately $10 billion figure is more than double the total online sales the United States saw on Black Friday.
